Shohei Ohtani is one of the most collectable names in the hobby. In recent times, few names have generated the same attention from baseball card collectors.
He has some seriously cool, and valuable, 1/1 cards that most collectors dream of owning. There are perhaps too many 1-of-1 Ohtani cards, but that’s an argument for a different day.
For now, here’s a look at 6 incredible Shohei Ohtani one-of-a-kind gems.
6 Insane Ohtani 1/1 Cards
2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph Superfractor
Easily one of his most significant and valuable cards ever released, the Superfractor parallel of his 2018 Bowman Chrome variation autograph card.
The rookie card status, Bowman Chrome brand and on-card signature are hugely significant.
Ohtani actually has 3 different Chrome Rookie Autograph Superfractor cards from 2018, all featuring different images (pitching, batting, carrying a bag), and all are 1-of-1.
2018 Topps Chrome Sapphire Rookie Autograph Superfractor
Another one of Ohtani’s greatest ever cards, and another top Ohtani rookie, is his 1/1 Topps Chrome Sapphire Rookie Auto Superfractor parallel, which at one time was briefly his most expensive ever card.
Like the Bowman Chrome Rookie Auto above, the on-card signature helps make it a treasured piece.
It previously sold for $336k in 2024.
2023 Topps Definitive Collection Dual Autograph Shohei Ohtani / Babe Ruth
Two star names from two different eras, both intertwined with baseball card lore – Shohei Ohtani and the legendary Babe Ruth, both featured on one special card.
Their unique shared mastery of both pitching and hitting is the idea of this concept that combines modern and vintage.
The on-card Ohtani signature and embedded cut Ruth signature cap off a truly awesome 1-of-1 card.
This ‘hitting’ version previously sold for $113k in 2024, and there’s a separate 1/1 ‘pitching’ version, which unsurprisingly swaps the images of the players hitting to pitching.
2023 Topps Five Star Jumbo Patch Autograph Shohei Ohtani
Now here’s a cool card, a game-used Nike Swoosh relic patch is featured alongside an on-card signature to give a unique and awesome-looking card.
The jumbo patch, along with the shiny card design, jumps right out at you – It’s a great card from the 2023 Topps Five Star set.
2024 Topps NOW Inscribed Autograph Gold Shohei Ohtani
In 2024, Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to join the 50/50 club – 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases during a single season.
To celebrate, Topps released a NOW card with this 1/1 Gold parallel as the crown jewel.
The on-card signature is alongside an awesome ‘50/50 Club 9/19/24’ inscription.
2024 Topps 50/50 Dynasty Black Logoman Patch Autograph Shohei Ohtani
In addition to the NOW card, Topps released a special 50/50: Shohei Ohtani set, which included 3 different patch autograph cards.
The pick of them was this Logoman Autograph card, which included the game-used MLB Logoman from the pants Ohtani wore whilst he hit his historic 50th home run.
It’s a true piece of baseball card history, and an insane card for the collector whose lucky enough to own it.
