A 6-year-old baseball card collector from Texas has gone viral after his amazing reaction to finding a valuable 1-of-1 Paul Skenes baseball card in a pack.
Many collectors spend years trying to hit a card as rare as this, but the young collector, Champ Stutts, has lived up to his name and already experienced something that many of us dream of.
In a video posted online by his parents, captioned “excited is an understatement”, you can see Champ’s heartwarming reaction moments after ripping the pack containing the rare card.
“Guys, guys guys, I can’t breathe,” Stutts says during the video, before adding “Why aren’t you all proud of it.”
The 1-of-1 Onyx card features the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Paul Skenes, whose stock is high at the moment, having been the top pick in the 2023 MLB draft, and named 2024 National League Rookie of the Year.
The video caught the attention of Skenes’ girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, who commented saying “showing Paul this immediately”. Skenes has subsequently invited Champ to a Pirates game to watch him in action, making the special moment even better for the young baseball card collector.
