The coveted 1-of-1 Paul Skenes Rookie Debut Patch Autograph card (RDPA), from the 2024 Topps Chrome Update set, has quickly broken records in early stages of bidding on its auction with Fanatics Collect.
The Rookie Debut Patch Autograph series debuted with the 2023 Topps Chrome Update set. They include a one-of-a-kind patch worn exclusively during a player’s Major League debut, and are designed to be the top rookie card for each featured player.
At the time of writing, the Skenes card has already attracted 56 bids, pushing the price to $600,000 (including buyer’s premium), with over 9 days left of the auction.
The current record price for a Paul Skenes card was set at Goldin Auctions in September, where his 1-of-1 2023 Bowman Draft Chrome Prospects Autographs Superfractor card, graded PSA 7, sold for $123,220.
Masyn Winn’s card holds the current record for RDPAs, which sold for $75,000 via Fanatics Collect’s ‘Buy Now’ marketplace in early February.
The Paul Skenes Rookie Debut Patch Autograph card will comfortably beat both current records when bidding finishes, and will be one of the most expensive modern baseball cards.

The 2024 Topps Chrome Update release also showcases debut patches for the likes of Jackson Holliday, Elly De La Cruz, Jackson Chourio, and Junior Caminero.
Skenes burst onto the scene in 2024, and an impressive rookie year has helped make his RDPA arguably the most talked-about baseball card in recent memory, drawing extensive media attention and public debate.
Since the redemption was pulled, the card was produced by Topps in Texas, signed by Skenes, transported to the collector’s Los Angeles-area residence, graded a 10 by PSA in Southern California, and displayed in both New York and New Orleans during the Super Bowl over the past two months.
Bidding for card finishes on March 20, do you think it’ll break the $1m barrier?
