Derek Jeter isn’t just a name; it’s a brand within baseball card culture.
He remains etched in history through cards that both tell his story and challenge collectors.
From his iconic 1993 SP Foil card, to the elusive 1-of-1s, he’s had some great cards over the years that remain very much in-demand today.
Here’s a look at 10 of the most expensive, based on previous public sales.
10 Most Expensive Jeter Cards Ever Sold
10. 1996 Topps Chrome Refractor Derek Jeter #80

Record Sale: $30.6k (PSA 10)
The 1996 Topps Chrome Refractor cards have held up well in terms of popularity.
The parallel adds a shine to the base version, as well as rarity. It’s not serial-numbered, but with a 1:12 pack insertion rate for the Refractor parallels in the set, they’re not common cards.
It’s a condition sensitive card, given the shine can fade and develop a green tint over time, so it’s no surprise that the highest-graded copies sell for big money.
9. 1995 Topps Finest Refractor Derek Jeter #279

Record Sale: $33.6k (PSA 10)
The 1995 Topps Finest Refractor parallel shares the same issues as the ‘96 Topps Chrome Refractor above, in terms of being condition sensitive, making the highest-graded copies more scarce and valuable.
The Refractor parallels from the 1995 Finest set also had a 1:12 pack insertion rate, so the card is by no means common.
It’s a great card, showcasing a young Jeter.
8. 1998 E-X2001 Credentials Now Derek Jeter #7

Record Sale: $34k (Raw)
The 1998 EX-2001 Credentials Now card mixes an acetate finish, bright colors and extreme rarity.
The Credentials Now parallels remain popular today, but with only 7 numbered copies of this one, you’ll have to pay a premium if one pops up.
The red/pink-colored Credentials Future parallel version, from the same set, offers a slightly more attainable alternative, with 94 numbered copies.
7. 1996 Select Certified Mirror Blue Derek Jeter #100

Record Sale: $37.2k (PSA 10)
Another great card, which features a shine finish-the 1996 Select Certified Mirror Blue parallel is one of six different parallels from the set, and believed to be the second rarest.
There’s no serial-numbers on these, but with a pack insertion rate of 1:200 for the Mirror Blue cards, the predicted print run is around 45 in total, with most of those in deteriorated condition today.
6. 1999 Metal Universe Gem Masters Derek Jeter #238

Record Sale: $43.2k (PSA 9)
The first 1-of-1 piece on the list comes from the 1999 Metal Universe set with this Gem Masters “Caught on the Fly” card.
The shiny, bold design, along with the cartoonish “Caught on the Fly” graphic helps the card stand out, but with only one copy it’s virtually impossible to collect.
Despite that, it’s one of the most expensive Derek Jeter baseball cards of all-time.
5. 2005 Topps Chrome Gold Superfractor Derek Jeter #440

Record Sale: $48.5k (PSA 10)
Another Jeter card that only one collector will be lucky enough to own, given it’s another 1-of-1 gem.
The coveted Topps Chrome Gold Superfractor parallel definitely lives up to the gold in its name with its design.
Jeter has numerous 1-of-1 Superfractor parallels across different Topps and Bowman sets, so while this one might not be attainable, something similar could be.
4. 1998 SkyBox Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Derek Jeter #199

Record Sale: $57.6k (PSA 9)
I love the Precious Metal Gems cards of the late-90s! This Derek Jeter card combines rarity with futuristic design, and is one of my personal favorites.
The New York-themed card is limited to only 50 copies, and it’s another that isn’t easy to keep in good condition.
3. 1992 Little Sun High School Prospects Autograph Derek Jeter

Record Sale: $61.2k (PSA 10)
One of Jeter’s most sought-after cards dates back to his very first baseball card, which features him as just a prospect.
There’s only 250 autographed copies in existence, which combined with its significance, makes it an in-demand card.
Of the 250, there isn’t an abundance of high-graded copies either.
2. 1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold Derek Jeter #100

Record Sale: $288k (PSA 10)
The Blue Mirror version of this card came in further up the list, but this Mirror Gold parallel from the 1996 Select Certified set is even rarer, with an estimated 30 copies.
It’s notoriously hard to grade, because of its shiny gold finish, so the highest-graded copies are among the most coveted Derek Jeter cards out there.
It’s no surprise to see this one in the number 2 spot for the most expensive Jeter baseball cards.
1. 1993 Upper Deck SP Foil Derek Jeter #279

Record Sale: $600k (PSA 10)
The holy grail of Derek Jeter cards, and one that’s at the pinnacle of modern baseball cards–his 1993 Upper Deck SP Foil rookie.
The card itself isn’t necessarily rare, but copies in top condition are, given that it’s not easy to keep in mint condition, so that’s where the big value is found.
It’s a card that sits among the most desirable baseball cards ever released, in the highest grade, and it’s the most coveted Jeter card out there.
