The New Topps Parallel Rainbow Chase That’ll Take At Least 6 Years To Complete

If you’re into rainbow collecting, Topps just announced one of the longest plays the hobby’s seen yet—and it kicks off this week.

As part of the 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball release, a brand-new insert set called “Cooperstown Calls” is making its debut. What makes it unique? Completing the full rainbow will take six years—and that’s the best-case scenario.

The concept centers around Hall of Fame inductees, with a single new, lower-numbered version dropping annually. This year’s release features the Blue (/150) card for the most recent Hall of Fame class.

From there, the chase continues year by year for those same inductees:

2026: Green (/99)

2027: Gold (/50)

2028: Orange (/25)

2029: Black (/10)

2030: Red (/5)

2031: Superfractor (1/1)

That’s right—the 1/1 Superfractor won’t hit packs until 2031.

This year, “Cooperstown Calls” will celebrate the 2025 inductees: Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, Billy Wagner, Dave Parker, and the late Dick Allen.

The idea builds on the long-running obsession with rainbow collecting—a phenomenon that’s exploded in the ultra-modern era.

While there’s no universal rulebook, many collectors aim to assemble every version of a card, with a true rainbow typically including a 1/1.

This latest Topps subset offers rainbow collectors a long-term chase.

The 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball product officially hits shelves today.
