A rare collection of over 500 Michael Jordan basketball cards have been discovered stashed away in shoeboxes inside a house in Arizona.
It includes some of MJ’s best basketball cards ever released.
The dream discovery was made by the brother of a late-collector, who has inherited the impressive haul, according to PR Newswire.
The Jordan cards originally belonged to a passionate collector, who reportedly set out to obtain every Michael Jordan refractor card released during the 1990s and early 2000s.
It seems he managed to gather an extraordinary assortment, including almost all Jordan Refractors and Atomic Refractors from a variety of brands, starting with the 1993 Finest series and spanning to Jordan’s final seasons with the Washington Wizards.
The beneficiary intends to auction the collection with Auction Monthly, with an estimated total value of well into the 6-figure range.
It’ll come as a surprise to very few that Michael Jordan is one of the most collectible names in the sports card hobby, with some of the most expensive cards ever sold, so there’ll be no shortage in interest.

The collection includes some of his most sought after and popular inserts, including:

However, while it features some key, and rare, MJ cards, it notably lacks his most iconic grail, the 1986 Fleer card, but it does include his earliest, the 1984 Star.
It’s an awesome discovery for the hobby, and it makes you wonder how many undiscovered collections are sitting in people’s attics waiting to be discovered!
