*The list is based on previous auction sales prices according to Market Movers*
10. 2018 Bowman Chrome Variation Autograph Shohei Ohtani #1
Record Sale: $300,000 (graded BGS 9.5) – November 2025.
While the standard base version of Ohtani’s 2018 Bowman Chrome rookie shows him locked in at the plate, ready to swing, the much tougher image variation tells a different story – Ohtani carrying his glove with a bat resting over his shoulder.
Pulling the 1:133 image variation alone would be a huge moment for any collector, but the autographed version is on another level.
The signed version is limited to just 25 numbered copies.
9. 2024 Topps Definitive Collection Framed Autograph Red #DCFA-SO
Record Sale: $312,000 (ungraded) – November 2025.
Duality defines Shohei Ohtani. On the field, he’s a rare two-way superstar – one of baseball’s elite hitters and pitchers. Beyond that, his journey bridges two worlds, transitioning from Japan to the MLB and becoming a global icon in the process.
Both sides of Ohtani are perfectly captured on this 1/1 2024 Topps Definitive Collection Framed Autograph Collection Red card.
It features two autographs – One is Ohtani’s familiar MLB signature, while the second runs down the side in Kanji.
It marks the first time both the English and Japanese versions of Shohei Ohtani’s autograph have appeared together on the same MLB baseball card.
8. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autographs Red Shohei Ohtani #SO
Record Sale: $312,000 (graded PSA 9) – December 2021.
The regular 2018 Bowman set included a Chrome Rookie Autographs subset, which gives Ohtani a different-looking rookie autographs card from the Bowman Chrome batting card – This one features him pitching.
It’s another one of his most coveted first-year cards, and the Red parallel adds extreme scarcity, with only 5 numbered copies.
Even without a Gem Mint grade, the extreme rarity and rookie-card status helped it sell for big money during the early peak of Ohtani-mania.
7. 2025 Topps Sterling Nameplates Autograph Shohei Ohtani #SNP-SO
Record Sale: $336,000 (ungraded) – October 2025.
This Shohei Ohtani 1/1 Bat Barrel Autograph is unlike anything else in the hobby. At first glance, it’s a premium signed barrel card – But a closer look reveals something far more special.
Both the autograph and bat barrel are inscribed in Kanji, marking the first card of its kind.
Adding to its lore, the bat piece traces back to a game on September 25, 2020, when Ohtani faced the Dodgers, playing for the Angels, despite it being a Dodgers Ohtani card.
6. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autographs Orange Shohei Ohtani #BCRASO
Record Sale: $533,140 (graded BGS 10 Black Label) – November 2024.
When this Orange parallel of the Rookie Autographs Ohtani card from 2018 Bowman Chrome sold for over half a million dollars, it became his most expensive baseball card sale of all time.
It no longer holds that title, but it’ll be forever cemented as one of Ohtani’s most significant cards.
We’ve already seen the Gold parallel (/50) above, but this Orange version is even rarer, with 25 numbered copies – The BGS 10 Black Label slab of this copy gives it further prestige.
The on-card signature and rookie card status add to the allure of this one.
5. 2018 Topps Transcendent Collection '52 Topps Autographs Superfractor Shohei Ohtani #52S-SOH
Record Sale: $542,900 (graded BGS 9.5) – November 2025.
This ticks a lot of boxes: A 1/1 rookie-year card, with a hard-signed autograph, and a throwback design to one 1952, of the greatest and most beloved Topps sets of all time.
It’s one of the elite Shohei Ohtani rookie cards. Fusing the classic design with the popular modern Superfractor finish.
Uniquely, this Superfractor is the only version of the ’52 Topps Autographs line in the 2018 Topps Transcendent set, with no base or other parallels available. For collectors, it’s the only shot at owning this iconic Ohtani autograph, which is why it carries such a premium.
4. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autographs Gold Shohei Ohtani #BCRASO
Record Sale: $552,000 (graded PSA Authentic) – December 2025.
Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph cards are a staple of modern rookie card royalty, and it’s no different for Shohei Ohtani – his Rookie Autograph card from 2018 Bowman Chrome is his key rookie card.
The Gold Refractor parallel has only 50 numbered copies.
It’s one of the lower-numbered parallels, and it features a crisp on-card signature. PSA 10s are obviously tough to find, and this example represents the perfect blend of scarcity, star power, and condition.
3. 2018 Topps Finest Autographs Shohei Ohtani #FA-SO
Record Sale: $585,600 (graded PSA 10) – September 2025.
This Ohtani Topps Finest Autograph rookie card is one of the most sought-after modern baseball cards in existence.
It features Ohtani’s signature written in Kanji, an ultra-rare version of his autograph that’s far more elusive than his standard Latin-script signature.
It’s not a numbered card, but the signature makes it unique. The value is also helped by the rookie-year release.

Record Sale: $1,067,500 (graded PSA 9) – March 2025.

Part of the Topps Dynasty “50/50 Club” set (celebrating Ohtani’s 50 HR / 50 SB season), this Black Autograph Relic card features a large MLB logo patch from a game-worn pair of Ohtani pants, plus a sharp on-card gold-ink signature.
Graded PSA 9, it’s one of the highest-profile Ohtani cards ever produced—combining season-defining significance, stunning design, and ultra-premium branding. This sale confirmed Ohtani’s place in the upper echelon of the hobby.

Record Sale: $3,000,000 (ungraded) – December 2025.
The sale of this 1/1 Gold Logoman auto card took the Ohtani market to another level.

The card celebrates Shohei’s 2024 NL MVP award, and features the prestigious game-worn Gold MLB logo patch, alongside the blue-ink signature.
The $3 million sale put this among baseball card royalty – a true modern grail.
