Josh Giddey came to the NBA in 2021, after being selected as the 6th overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder, after a spell playing with the Adelaide 36ers of the National Basketball League. He won the 2021 NBL Rookie of the Year award.

Giddey had some impressive performances in his NBA rookie season, winning the Western Conference rookie of the month award 4 times. He also became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double.

The Australian native point guard’s rookie season was hindered by injury, which did see him relegated to the 2022 NBA All-Rookie second team.
